The Truth of Nature Exhibit Oct 21, 2019 - Feb 2, 2020

Impressive back-to-back exhibitions for The Denver Art Museum have blessed our community within the past year and Claude Monet’s “The Truth of Nature” is going to be yet another tough show to follow.

From October 21, 2019 through February 2, 2020, The Denver Art Museum will house the most comprehensive U.S. exhibition of Monet paintings in more than two decades. The exhibition showcases over 120 paintings that take viewers on a journey spanning his career, showcasing the relationship between nature and the various, distinct places he worked.

Unlike many other impressionist artists at the time, Monet traveled far and wide to seek out new motifs including the Normandy coast, Mediterranean, London, the Netherlands and Norway. Those exploring the show will get a personal look into these travels in chronological order. Additionally, the presentation will take a deep dive into Monet’s interest with changing atmospheres, the reflective qualities of water and the effects of light, while examining his shift to focus on a series of the same subject matter later in his career.

Denver is lucky to be the only stop for this exhibition, which means I highly recommend purchasing tickets soon to explore the works of an iconic impressionist!
